This "City of Angels" is a thriving commercial center set in the heart of Southeast Asia. The capital of Thailand, Bangkok is one of Asia's largest cities in the world with a population of approx. 10 million people.
Famous for its Buddhist temples, tasty Thai cuisine and wonderful service, Bangkok is Thailand's major tourist gateway.
Bangkok is located in the central part of the country on the low-flat plain of the Chao Phraya River. There are three main seasons; Rainy (May-October), Winter (November-January) and Summer (February-April). The average low temperature is approximately in low to mid 20 degree Celsius and high temperature in mid 30 degree Celsius.
The many ways of getting around Thailand include the Sky Train, the Subway, Taxis, Boats and the three-wheeled, 'open air' Tuk-Tuk.
The Grand Palace and Wat Pra Keow (The Temple of the Emerald Buddha) are just an example of the many interesting places to visit in Bangkok. Other attractions in and around Bangkok are The Floating Markets and the ancient capital city of Ayuthaya.
